Growing the Garden City

The Garden City has been privileged to have had enlightened patrons who donated to improve facilities in their favorite parks. These special amenities, such as the Shaw Symphony Stage, have in turn become enduring symbols of philanthropy. With the launch of the Garden City Fund, we hope to engage sponsors with several new projects listed below.

- Longevity Garden

- Special Bontanical Features and Displays in Pocket Parks

Learning to Play

As the Garden City matures, programs to sustain the Garden City and engage the public gain greater urgency. For many, recreation in parks is second nature. NParks’ recreation programs build greater ownership and provide opportunities for all to enjoy their parks and live life’s essential moments there.

- Fitness Events in Parks

- Arts in Parks

Teaching Ownership

NParks manages programs that teach a sense of stewardship of public spaces. These programs, such as Adopt-a-Park aim to inculcate a greater ownership among the public for our parks and greenery, so that they take pride in sustaining our green spaces. For the three programs below, donated funds will go towards program development and execution.

- Adopt-a-Park

- Park Watch Scheme

- Young Explorers Scheme

Conserving Nature

Our nature conservation programs serve the same aims as our programs to teach ownership. But nature conservation programs emphasise protecting our fragile ecology, and teaching responsible behavior to users of our nature areas like Chek Jawa and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.

- Chek Jawa Education Programs

- Reforestation Projects

- Clean Up Projects

- Nature Conservation Events

Seeking Knowledge

On the other hand, research begets teaching, as we impart new knowledge to educate the public on future Garden City initiatives and their role in sustaining the lush landscapes now so much a part of Singapore. Come grow with the GCF, and can help by contributing to the many exciting projects we’ve listed below.

- Marine Conservation and Biodiversity Survey

- Research Project on Rehabilation of Labrador Park Coast

- Skyrise Greenery Research

- Arboriculture Research
